How Does It Work for Businesses?

Build your business by building your community.

At Darling’s, our belief is that one of the best ways of building our business is by building our community and making it better for everyone. This philosophy is one of the reasons we created the Ice Cream for a Cause truck. We invite your company to join us in this practice and help grow your business while strengthening our community.

Here are some ways the Darling’s Ice Cream for a Cause Truck work with businesses:

  • Open House – The Darling’s Truck is a great addition to your open house and it’s the perfect way to thank current customers and draw in new potential customers. If your company would like to provide coupons, swag, or other materials we can help hand them out to each customer too!
  • Employee Appreciation – Show your employees how much you appreciate all of their hard work with a sweet treat.

  • An Employee in Need – We can help to fundraise for an employee in need, lift everyone’s spirits, and show them how much you care.

  • Company BBQ – What can make your company BBQ even more of a hit? Ice Cream!!!

  • Host a Charity – Sometimes charities are trying to fundraise but they need a good location to do it. You can help them by hosting a charity fundraiser at your business location – either through a partnership with a charity of your choice, or we can help match you with a charity in need!

If your company is interested in being matched with a charity in need, please email us at DarlingsICT@Icecreamforacause.com.

How does it work?

The way our ice cream truck typically works is an organization or charity will submit a request for us to come to their event through our website, www.icecreamforacause.com. If we can attend the event, Darling’s Auto Group will provide the Darling’s Ice Cream for a Cause Truck, all the ice cream, an ambassador to run the truck at the event, and marketing materials to promote your event, all at no cost to the event or the charity. At events, we hand out ice cream and ask patrons to donate what they can to the cause or charity for which the event is fundraising. 100% of all donations collected at each event go to the charity or cause for which the event is fundraising.

Businesses can work a little differently. They often want to show their appreciation to employees and/or customers by donating on their behalf or would like to support their community by giving a set donation or matching donations. We offer the following ways to fundraise at business events:

– Collect donations from employees/customers

– Your company/institution can match the donations collected from employees/customers

– Your company/institution can make a set donation and ask your employees/customers to donate as well if they choose

– Your company/institution can donate on behalf of your employees/customers and treat them to ice cream.

For corporate events and institutions such as a hospital, schools, or summer camps that would like to treat their staff/clients/customers/students and not ask for donations from them, we ask that they donate a minimum of $250 to the charity they choose or $2.00 per employee/customer for larger groups over 250 people. To encourage philanthropy throughout communities, we ask that businesses/institutions select a charity that is not directly associated with their company/institution (this prevents a double dipping scenario where a company/institution donates to itself for us providing ice cream to their staff/clients/customers/students). You can choose any charity. It can be large, small, local, national, or global.

With events like this, we ask that the company/institution write out a check to the charity (in the charity’s name) and either give it to us on the day of the event or mail it to our office so it is received before the event. We then send that check, a check for any cash donations we may have received at the event, a letter explaining how the funds were raised, and a little information about our ice cream truck to the charity. We’ve found that this is a great way to give credit to the business that hosted the event and introduce our ice cream truck program to charities that we can potentially help in the future.

If you would like to host a Darling’s Ice Cream for a Cause Truck event at your business you can submit a request. If you have further questions or an idea that you would like to run by us, please email us at DarlingsICT@icecreamforacause.com.

How much can we raise?

An average two-hour stop earns between $200-$400, although some events earn much more.

This varies depending on the event, location, and weather. The more you help spread the word about the event, the more you can earn! We will help with promotion and can give you lots of ideas on how to get the word out, but the more customers, employees, family, friend, nearby businesses, and local community members that you can have stop and get ice cream during your stop, the more money you will raise!

How much does it cost?

There is no cost to your cause. Darling’s donates the ice cream, and 100% of all collected donations go back to your cause.

Free ice cream- what’s the catch?

There isn’t one. We created this truck with the idea of creating smiles, sharing some sweet treats, and helping causes in the communities that we work and live in.

Free ice cream - what's the catch?

There is no catch! We mean it!

We created this truck with the idea of creating smiles, sharing sweet treats, and helping causes in the communities that we live and work in.

How can I schedule my event?

We are now accepting requests for the 2026 Darling’s Ice Cream for a Cause season. If you are planning an event that you would like the Darling’s Ice Cream Truck to attend and fundraise for a great charity or cause, Request a Stop today! We’ll hit the road in April, and our season will run through October 31st.

This year, Darling’s Ice Cream for a Cause events in April will be reviewed and booked approximately three weeks before the requested event date. For events on or after May 1st, submitted requests will be reviewed and booked approximately six weeks before their requested date. We keep all event requests on file until we review them. Once we have reviewed all the requests for the same day and decided which events we’ll attend, we email each event coordinator to confirm whether we’ll attend their event. This process allows us to give equal consideration to all events requested for the same day and plan logistics more effectively so we can attend as many events as possible.

We accept requests for events less than six weeks away, but they may be less likely to be booked since we already have other events scheduled.
